Cartosat-2D is observation satellite designed by ISRO and equipped in panchromatic camera for scene-specific black and white pictures suitable for cartography. It is fifth of Cartosat-2 constellation since first launch in 2007. Cartosat-2D will be followed by Cartosat-2E planned for late 2017. ISRO is planning to utilize PSLV launch vehicle for this mission. Probably due low mass of Cartosat-2C (around 690 kg) standard version of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, with six solid fueled boosters and four stages with combined liquid and solid fueling.
