PSLV • IRNSS-1E

Next satellite launched by Indian Space Research Organization under Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System. Each satellite is basing on I-1K (Insat 1000) bus developed by ISRO and commercially available. It belongs to light weight satellites - start mass is at 1425 kg with payload and propellant. Dimensions of the spacecraft are 1.505 m × 1.476 m × 1.530 m. Lifespan of satellite based on I-1K nominally fits in the range from 7 to 12 years - in 1E version is 10 years. Satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays combined with onboard battery - 1300 w are provided for bus and payload. Propulsion of satellite is Liquid Apogee Motor (LAM). IRNSS-1E will provide navigational signal on L5 and S band. Additional payloads are CDMA ranging instruments and laser retro-reflector. Planned launch vehicle or this mission is PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) - four stages, liquid and solid fueled, rocket had been remained operational since 1993. PSLV is able to lift up to 1425 kg for GTO, 1725 to SSO and 3250 kg to LEO.
